In this tutorial I'll show you how to create a natural surreal geisha that goes up in smoke. Literly.

First of, we start with a document 720x1300 pixels and 72dpi.
In the background you will create a radial grandient from #181818 to #2e2e2e
Place the stockphoto inside your document. Remove everything but the girl. You don't have to be precise on this, edges will be done later.
Create a layer mask on this layer. Start removing the edges with a soft brush. You can choose what you want to remove from the edges though.
Remove her waist and her shoulder as well.
After that, add back the photo with the smokebrushes in her waist.
